My tractor began severly spewing oil out two holes on the right side of the engine, to the lower left of the oil filter and above the oil pan from what appear to be one size M10 hole and just above it a size M8 hole. What are these ports for and how were they originally plugged? I do not have a dealer close by to rely on for help. I have a operator's and workshop manual that do not show any reference or explanation to these two holes. Thanks for any help.

Do you have a parts manual? The parts diagram break down might be beneficial in determining whether a part fell off or something else is wrong. I have the parts manual for the L245 in .pdf format. If you are interested; I can email it to you but it will take a good bit to download the file. ....

With out actually seeing the hole all I can do is guess. They may be test ports or pressure ports. Could be any number of different oil flow tap ins. If this is the case then the plugs may have fallen out or come loose. Can you see or feel any threads in the holes? ....

I have the same issue. There are two holes about 4 inches behind the oil filter on the right side, but in my case the top one popped out. The hole doesn't appear to have threads. It comes gushing out when running. If anyone can send me a parts breakdown of the right side of the block I would appreciate it. I think it must be some sort of plug, like a freeze plug, but this appears to be in the oil pressure area, not water. ....

hey cheif,
could you possibly email me the manual for the kubota l245dt 4wd tractor. my neighbour has just purchased an old one, but the 4wd shaft is missing,,,,, thats the shaft that has a spline on either end that fits over the stubbie axles of the front and back axles then the splined sleeves slip over to keep the shaft in place in place.
As i work in engineering i may be able to make a new shaft, but i think the splines would be difficult to replicate so looks like i may need a new shaft, or modify one to suit with a square drive rather than the splines.
Kind Regards Dave ....
